To Mom!!!

My husband's mom went on to be with the Lord this spring and because she wouldn't be with us for Christmas my brother-in-law want to do something in her memory. None of us knew what on earth he was up to. He said he wanted us all (his sister, brother and me, his older son and wife, along with his wife, my sister-in-law) to meet at a restaurant and have dinner together. After dinner he brought out a box of chocolate covered cherrys. We all busted out laughing.

You see, when my mother-in-law died, we found candy stashed everywhere, 2 boxes were the chocolate covered cherrys, one was opened and the wasn't. We were amazed at all the candy she had stuffed under the bed, in the closet, in the drawer of her night stand, in the kitchen (in different places). Bless her heart, we just figured she forgot where they were and she'd buy more or one of us would get her more, lol.

This is a picture of all of us, chocolate covered cherry in hand, toasting Mom.

So, here's to you Mom! I couldn't have asked for a better mother-in-law...no, strike that...I couldn't have asked for a better 2nd Mom, because she was. We all love her and miss her. But we'll see her one day and it will be like we had never been apart!

MERRY CHRISTMAS MOM!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

What a sweet way to remember you MIL!

Our family has a silly choc. covered cherry story too. Nina's brother was a huge fan of them when he was young. Because they were cheap and we were poor, Nina and Bobby bought them for Jimmy everytime he got a gift. Jimmy ate so many of those candies, he can't stand them now. But we all think of Jimmy when we see chocolate covered cherries!
